KANAYA HOTEL × TRAVELER’S COMPANY
金谷ホテルは、1873年に「金谷カテッジイン」として日光で産声を上げ、諸外国の外交官や知識人たちの避暑リゾートとして礎を築き上げました。戦中には疎開場所になったり、戦後は米軍に接収され将校の休養用として使用されたり、困難な時期を乗り越えながら、「現存する日本最古のリゾートホテル」としての伝統を守りながら営業を続けています。日光東照宮にも近く、日本の建築美に西洋の家具や備品がとけ込みクラシックホテルならではの雰囲気が魅力のホテルです。
このたび、金谷ホテルの創業150周年を記念した、トラベラーズノートやブラスチャーム、ブラスボールペンなどのコラボレーションアイテムを製作しました。トラベラーズノートは、茶色のカバーに、クラシックな雰囲気が漂う金谷ホテルのロゴをゴールドの箔押しで表現しました。リフィルは、金谷ホテルにアーカイブとして残されているマップなどをモチーフにデザイン。扉のページには、ホテルの歴史が綴られています。
さらに金谷ホテルの特徴的なルームキーをモチーフにしたブラスチャーム、ホテルのシンボルとして長年お客様を迎えてきたホテルの看板をモチーフにデザインしたロゴをプリントしたブラスボールペン、ホテルで実際に使われてきたバゲッジタグやステッカー、昔の広告などをモチーフにアレンジしたステッカーセットをラインアップしています。
これらのアイテムは、10月6日に日光金谷ホテルおよび中禅寺金谷ホテルにて発売、さらに10月18日より、トラベラーズファクトリー中目黒、エアポート、ステーション、京都にて、トラベラーズファクトリーオンラインショップでは10月18日11時ごろより発売します。

Kanaya Hotel was founded in Nikko in 1873 as “Kanaya Cottage Inn” and built its foundation as a summer resort for diplomats and intellectuals from various countries. The hotel was used as an evacuation site during World War II and was confiscated by the U.S. military after the war to be used as a rest area for officers. Located close to the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, the hotel has a classic hotel atmosphere with Western furniture and fixtures blending in with the beauty of Japanese architecture.
We have produced a collaboration capsule collection which includes TRAVELER’S notebook, Brass Charm Brass Ballpoint Pen, and Sticker Set to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Kanaya Hotel. The collaboration TRAVELER’S notebook has a brown cover with the classic Kanaya Hotel logo stamped in gold foil. The refill is designed in the motif of maps and other materials archived at Kanaya Hotel and the first folded page describes the history of the hotel.
In addition, a Brass Charm featuring the distinctive room key of Kanaya Hotel, a Brass Ballpoint Pen printed with the hotel’s logo designed in the motif of the hotel’s signboard that has welcomed guests for many years as the hotel’s symbol, and a set of stickers arranged in the motif of actual luggage tags and stickers used in the hotel and old advertisements will be produced.
These items will go on sale at Nikko Kanaya Hotel and Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel on October 6, and at TRAVELER’S FACTORY Nakameguro, Narita Airport, Tokyo Station, Kyoto and the TFA Online Shop from October 18.
Nikko is home to many fascinating sightseeing spots, including the gorgeous World Heritage site of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Lake Chuzenji, and the Kegon Waterfalls. As the autumn leaves will soon begin to change color, why not take this opportunity to stay at the Kanaya Hotel and contemplate its 150 years of history?
