Miyajima

I started my Setouchi Triennale trip from Hiroshima in order to combine my itinerary to Miyajima and Kurashiki.
I took train and ferry to Miyajima to see the UNESCO listed mystical shrine built over the water and the iconic torii gate.
I did not expect seeing so many wild deer wandering around on the island, which are quite well-behaved compared to Nara’s deer.
I was drawn to the Yamamura Teahouse by the wisteria at its door and tried its Anago-meshi.
I enjoyed my lunch a lot in this teahouse with great ambiance.
