On my first day in Paris, I visited a number of landmarks in one afternoon. This restaurant, Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole near Notre Dame, was one of my favorites. I saw the restaurant in the beginning of winter, but took the liberty to add wisteria blooms in my Traveler's Notebook journal.
The excitement started when I entered our hotel room. The hotel window framed the decorative blue roof and beige walls of the Sorbonne Chapel in the Latin Quarter. Breakfast featured Ispahan croissants from Pierre Hermé. The buttery croissant was filled with rose almond paste and raspberry litchi compote, covered in rosewater glaze, and topped with raspberry flakes.
