I don’t record, but instead I remember it.

It sounds quite cool when you put that in context, but the truth is, it really isn’t. I used to be in the sales division back in the days when I used to work for a traveling agency. My job required me to record events that would happen way beyond future on my planner, and I was quite obedient when it came to recording things. But this act of recording brought a sense of relief to me, and this prevented me from reviewing events I wrote down on my planner. Reviewing – it’s a simple yet important action to take as a businessman, but my sloppiness prevented me from doing it. I really need to do something about my habit, but for now, let’s just put that aside. Through this habit that I had, I ended up being a planner-free person. What I did instead was I heavily relied on my memory. This gave me a tense and vague feeling, and it actually worked for me, and things did go pretty well. Just to make sure, this is just my case so don’t get the feeling that it will work with you as well.

It’s not about recording, it’s about remembering it.

In that kind of situation, I met the producers from TRAVELER’S notebook. Obviously, I didn’t carry any planner with me. But through the time I spent with them, I came to realize one thing. It’s that the act of recording is not based on duty. Recording can be based on your feeling of excitement you have towards a future event, or your act of collecting a favorite article. Soon, the planner you carry will consist of all the things you like, and that would eventually make you want to carry it around and read it over without any reason. And to point out, you will never forget it. Time will allow your planner to be filled with great memories, and a collection of it becomes a record in the end.

I want to stay free. That is to say, under any kind of circumstance.

The things you write down does not have to consist of important issues. It does not have to be neat, and it can even have a Pokemon sticker that your children pastes. Just feel free to write down silly stories and embarrassing poems. The act of writing itself makes the time you spend affectionate, and enjoying the process is just simply luxurious. In you busy time, a Pikachu sticker appears and makes you grin. Sounds kind of nice doesn’t it?

Go out to travel.
Work and joke around with your friends.
Laugh with your family.
It’s not about remembering your daily life.
It all gets recorded.
So why not carry your TRAVELER’S notebook,
look up a little bit more, and travel through your daily life?
